What began as an idea shared by a few dog owners, to train dogs to help locate lost people, became Search and Rescue Dogs of Maryland (SARDOM) in 1991.
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to law enforcement, fire/rescue units, or any official agency. SARDOM provides its services at no cost to the requesting agency. SARDOM is funded wholly be the generosity of others. If you would like to help us support our community, please consider donating your time or making a contribution via our website or by means of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). Search the CFC Charity list for #73058.
We are a non-profit group run entirely by volunteers–no member of SARDOM receives a paycheck. We’re proud to state that all donations made to SARDOM directly support our Search and Rescue mission.
If you would like to help, there are a number of ways you can do so:
- Volunteer with us! – If you’re interested in working with K9 Search & Rescue, we can help you to get started. You don’t need to have a dog before you contact us. Actually, we encourage prospective members to wait on acquiring their dog so we can focus on getting to know you and teaching you the “basics” before you commit to acquiring and training a working-line K9. And when you’re ready, we’ll help you to select the right dog for the job.
- Donate via the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) – The majority of our support is provided by the generosity of employees donating to our cause via CFC. Without these contributions, we wouldn’t be able to provide these valuable services our local first responder agencies. Your contributions help us maintain the equipment necessary to train on a regular basis and deploy our teams when called upon by local agencies. We couldn’t do this without the generous support of our community. Specify CFC# 73058 to offer your support!
All donations made to Search & Rescue Dogs of Maryland are tax deductible.
SARDOM is a registered 501(c) Non-Profit organization. CFC Number #73058.
