SARDOM is an all-volunteer, non-profit search and rescue unit utilizing air-scenting dogs. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to law enforcement, fire/rescue units, or any official agency. SARDOM provides its services at no cost to the requesting agency.

What began as an idea shared by a few dog owners, to train dogs to help locate lost people, became Search and Rescue Dogs of Maryland (SARDOM) in 1991.

24-Hour Emergency Contact

Law enforcement or other official agencies can activate SARDOM by calling:

SARDOM responds only to official agencies. Private citizens wanting SARDOM’s help to find missing persons are asked to call their local police or emergency services (fire and rescue) agency.

Help Support SARDOM

Search and Rescue Dogs of Maryland is supported wholly by the generosity of our community. SARDOM’s staff and K9 teams are all volunteers. With no paid employees, we’re able to maximize donations to support our operations and training efforts. Please click HERE to learn how you can help!

Our K9 Partners

Currently our team consists of working-line German Shepherd Dog and Belgian Malinois breeds.  Membership is not closed to other breeds, however. Any dog that has the proper drive and temperament for Search & Rescue work may be a good SAR K9 candidate.

Search and Rescue Dogs of Maryland, Inc (EIN:52-1750739) is a 501(c)(3) organization. Your donations are tax-exempt.
